Raytheon SNV-12 Signal to Noise Ratio Voter with 6 Voter Cards installed to enable the best signal from strategically located remote receivers for the 146.940/146.970 Repeaters in the Saskatoon area.
Check out this great video on what is being added to the Saskatoon 146.97/146.94 Repeaters.
This webpage is designed to educate, inspire and act as an operational and maintenance manual for the Silver Dragon designs.
Each model design serves a very specific purpose. When the various designs are integrated together, a plug and play ecosystem is the result.
With the use of pictures and accompanied written text, radio and Voip recipes with “paint by number“ instructions are used to help others replicate the designs.
To simplify the remote control of the “Master Control Engine”, we are implementing KVM-IP devices with Tailscale VPN bounded to those engines.
For audio we have implemented Mumble Audio Servers, ALLSTAR, IRLP and other VoIP capabilities to broaden the overall functionality.
Where possible, we have implemented devices that generate “webpages” to control the various features.
This results in us being able to “spread out” the capabilities and not have single points of failure and have independent and standalone capability.
This modular design using a “Master Control Engine” allows us to swap out various devices, and control the overall system to suit our needs and tastes and simplifies the whole process.
We are able to switch out various radio manufacturers radios due to the architecture and “future proof” the Silver Dragons as newer radio designs like Flex, Kenwood, Icom, Yaesu, etc are added. If stronger or faster computers are needed those too can be swapped out.
The Silver Dragons are built like a castle in which you can add whatever you desire in each room.
The castle is prewired and all one needs to do is add the “furniture and appliances” to achieve the desired results.
We are actively streamlining the system to simplify ongoing maintenance and functionality in a very purposeful manner to increase reliability and uptime.
The Silver Dragons can be operated independently or operated together. For example, the multiple receiver/full duplex links to the the SNV-12 Comparator can be connected to a high profile repeater site to improve coverage or used locally.

GL.iNet KVM integrates Tailscale, allowing you to bind it to the Tailscale virtual network for remote access.
What if you were challenged to create one of the most flexible, versatile and powerful communication systems developed in the amateur radio circles?
How would you go about doing this?
We decided to investigate the best of the best and create a cool system of systems.
Since technology advances so quickly, being open to innovation and advancement’s by others will add to the success of the projects.
In 2020 I took early retirement to look after my lovely partner in life, Helen. She has Multiple Sclerosis and needs 24/7 care due to her decline in health.
Being a full time caregiver is filled with day and night challenges that tests your resolve.
Napoleon Hill said “ For every adversity there is a seed of equal or greater benefit if you maintain a positive mental attitude.”
I believe if I channel the energy of adversity to create something that benefits others with passion and no limits, it can help propel me through the tough times.
If we created and adapted the works of others to collapse time frames, we can share “recipes” that can help others create their own Silver Dragon.
Howard Nurse and the development team have created a very special platform to automate and control radios using a webpage interface.
The voter will select the best quality signal from all unsquelched remote receivers and forward this signal to the repeater for rebroadcast to the various RF, Internet and High Speed wireless systems thus providing greater talk back range for the radios.
"The RC210 is a state-of-the-art, fully featured 3 Port repeater controller with features generally found on controllers costing hundreds more. With everything from an on-board DVR (digital voice recorder) to 3, totally independent Radio Ports, the RC210 will meet your toughest repeater challenge."
The Arcom EX1 Port Expander allows you to connect up to 3 additional full-duplex/half-duplex/simplex radios to the RC210 while using only 1 Port on the RC210 itself. Each additional Port is enabled/disabled by the Logic Outputs (UF) of the RC210 and may be used individually or simultaneously.
The modular design combined with
intuitive programming software make
the Tait P25 TB9100 base station an ideal
solution for conventional, trunked and
simulcast.

AllScan products are intended primarily for use withAllStarLink but also support EchoLink and other PTT communications, remote rig control, and digital mode apps. AllScan products comprise the following general categories:
NOTE: Full-Duplex AllStar nodes provide major advantages over half-duplex nodes. Before purchasing any half-duplex node I highly recommend reviewing the following: Full-Duplex Communication Benefits
Continuing our theme of making Voice Over IP solutions for Ham Radio user-friendly and accessible to a greater audience, we have built the ClearRPT device. ClearRPT does NOT have an embedded RF transceiver but provides electrical connections for audio in and out, PTT, SQ and numerous Raspberry Pi GPIO pins. ClearRPT also includes a microphone conditioning circuit and a 2.5W Class D audio amplifier for an external speaker or headset.
A self contained antenna rotator and radio controller. Natively controls Icom radios, Yaesu rotators and can interface with PSTRotator.
The S.A.T. works with any modern web browser on any device. No software, no apps and no com ports.
Station Master™ is unique controller on the market designed mainly for small or moderate, multiple antenna, single rotator stations. Provides radio control, antenna switch control, band pass filters switching, selective motor driven antenna tuning, computer controlled rotator interface, interface for automatic power amplifiers, sequencer for receiving antennas and many additional features
The AllScan UCI200 USB Communications Interface is a professional-grade USB interface that connects a radio, mic, speaker and USB host device with unprecedented flexibility, setting a new standard for AllStar, DVSwitch, EchoLink and other Radio-Over-IP (ROIP) applications.
