Adding a portable OpenWebRX SDR receiver to the AREDN platform utilizing an SDRPLAY RSP1a, Raspberry pi4 and an Ubiquiti M5 Rocket feeding a 120 degree Sector antenna is under development. The end goal is to strategically locate this system in a low RF environment. Possibilities include East of Saskatoon on the ridge, repeater sites like Lizard Lake, Lucky Lake or similar locations. For the time being we will locate it in the city.
Listening to the Coffee Break Net, Brian AI6US mentioned this brilliant piece of software that he used when his local QRM was real bad. The video on the website describes it very well. Check out the Coffee Break Net on ALLSTAR Node 51018 daily on the W6EK Repeater.
