To create an extensive remote base network to enable qualified licensed amateurs access to these stations and for others to add theirs if they want.
By utilizing the Modern Patch, amateurs can access the community multi-user systems with Full Duplex ALLSTAR Nodes or other solutions. Since the interface is like a phone patch, the radio can range from Collin’s to Flex radios.
The radios can be on fixed frequencies or be frequency agile.
We are starting our fleet off with donated radios from silent keys Dennis McMahon - VE5KR and Jerry Ringuette - VE5JAR.
CHANNEL ONE is an Icom IC-751a transceiver parked on 80 meters. CHANNEL TWO is a Yaesu FT-890AT transceivers parked on 40 meters.
Putting these great radios on the air keeps the silent keys memories alive and enables amateurs to access these stations due to HOA, downsizing, apartment living or other circumstances.
Not all radios have remote control functionality. However, by using the MODERN PATCH, we can access the radios using the ALLSTAR system or mumble servers for lower latency audio.
If the radio is frequency agile, this functionality can be made available on webpages as the system is developed.
Stay tuned as we deploy the various systems in 2025 as another community service function of SASK🇨🇦WARN.
